That is what
the President of the 100 Years Bulgarian Arts Academy - Docent Panayot
Panayotov wrote about the Second Solo Exhibition of Valeria Dimitrova, held
at ADAM’S Gallery 14.02 - 05.03 2003, Plovdiv, Bulgaria:
"I first discovered the digital art of Valeria Dimitrova last year, when
she showed her works at "Gallery 100+" of the National Academy of Arts.
From the very beginning she demonstrated plenty of imagination in the
topics together with artistic ease at working with the vast opportunities
that computer tools offer.
And, naturally, in the first place, we were impressed by the artistic
vision of the artist, creating a different, virtual reality, reflected in
a concrete artefact - her paintings!
Each of them is a kind of magic which takes you back there, in her mythical
world.
In this exhibition, the artist has put together paintings that are a window
to a world of fantasy, where you can escape ,though only spiritually, in
a place without everyday problems and difficulties. There your spirit can
fly free, far from the mediocre, over the land of artistic poetry.
These visions and messages to the spectator make you turn back to that
" hidden meaning of the things". You need only allow yourself to believe
in them and let your imagination take you to that romantic world of mirage,
gentle breeze and silent steps of cat…
The erotical pretext of some of them is reflected (touching upon our first
signal system) in the use of photo images, to turn through the layers of
other images into a vision of unique artistic meaning.
Everyone, familiar with the computer miracles, will undoubtedly recognise
"The Artist" behind the numerous possibilities offered by the computer
programs.
And here we must point out what ease, finesse and sophistication of beautiful
forms and colors Valeria demonstrates.
In other works she offers us more complicated forms and compositions,
provoking the spectator to associative thinking and discovering new, unknown
depths.
The pure light of another planet lights those places where Perfect Form
exists.
She, like an aristic Ariadna, gives us the thred, leading us through the
labirinths of collage visions, to a better, more humane self.
And is that not the purpose of every piece of art, even when created in
an unusual way?"
